Bruss Construction's Football Weekend In Green Bay

The men of Bruss Construction recently returned from their football weekend away in Green Bay, WI. Although the Owners home team, the Green Bay Packers, lost to The New England Patriots, the weekend was still enjoyed by all.

The pilgrimage to Lambeau Field consisted of 20 employees, including Jim, Michael and John Bruss, as well as Project Managers and Superintendents.

Besides taking part in a pre-game tailgate party, catching the Packers vs. Patriots game, and eating at Brett Favre's Steakhouse, the weekend also gave the company the chance to promote team work, team building, and the importance of working together.

Bruss Construction Purchases Hybrid Vehicles

Bruss Construction Show Their True Colors With Hybrid Vehicles Bruss Construction is pleased to announce the arrival of a new team member who will continue their drive towards environmentally focused corporate responsibility. The new addition is a 2006 GMC ¾ pickup, extended cab hybrid and will be working closely with fellow hybrid, the Toyota Camry. The two are among a growing fleet of environmentally friendly vehicles, furthering Bruss' commitment towards improving the environment. "We have made a commitment that whenever a hybrid alternative is available we will purchase that vehicle," said Jim Bruss. The Addition of these vehicles to the Bruss fleet continues the commitment to environmentally conscience business practices by Bruss Construction. A leader in sustainable building, Bruss was the first to construct a Gold Certified LEEDs project in New England.

Bruss Construction Speaks For Sustainable Energy

Michael Bruss, President of Bruss Construction, will be one of four presenters at an upcoming NESEA workshop on Building Your Dream Home "Green".

The workshop is being held on November 11, 2006 at the NH Audubon Center in Concord and is tailored for those preparing to build a home. The informative workshop will focus on encouraging people to make sound energy and environmental choices, while understanding the impact of their decisions.

The New Hampshire chapter of the New England Sustainable Energy Association, provides NH residents with an effective resource to help them through the process of incorporating renewable energy and sustainable technologies into their everyday life.

Bruss Construction Promotes Sustainable Building for State’s Future

Concord 2020, a citizen involvement group supporting a smart growth vision for Concord, NH, has asked Jim and Michael Bruss to give a presentation about the Nubanusit Neighborhood and Farm project located in Peterborough at their "The Roads to New Hampshire's Future" event.

The event will be attended by a group of engineers, architects and policy leaders from the Concord area that are discussing changes to the Capital area zoning requirements to promote land conservation. The Brusses will be speaking to them about the results a low impact community can have on preservation of open land, tying in with the vision of Concord 2020 which is the belief that built and natural spaces may be, and should be, closely integrated but that the differences between the two should be clear.

Bruss Construction Teams Up Again with NHADA For Renovations

Bruss construction is pleased to announce they have been awarded the renovation of the New Hampshire Auto Dealer Association's (NHADA) existing building in Concord, New Hampshire.

The project consists of approximately 4,800 sq. ft. of interior finish work on the main floor of the building, as well as 4,300 sq. ft. for the in-house Montessori School renovations. The project is scheduled for an early September completion.

Bruss Construction Awarded Contract for Renovations to Fenwood Commons

Bruss Construction has been awarded the contract for renovations to Fenwood Commons condominiums, located in New London, New Hampshire.

Work on the condominium project is in progress with a scheduled completion for October 2006. The renovations consist of sheathing, framing, new siding and trim, and window replacement. Architect is Frank Anzalone Associates.

Thornton Joins Bruss Construction

Bruss Construction is pleased to announce the addition of Butch Thornton to their construction team. Thornton’s role as Director of Project Management Services will be to oversee all aspects of project managers and their role with projects, implementing project management software, utilizing his experience and skills in assisting the continued growth and success of the organization.

Thornton brings with him over 20 years of experience developing and managing project budgets, construction schedules, subcontractors, cost controls, project documentation and contracts with an extensive background in public sector Design/Build construction, negotiated contracts, as well as hard bid construction. Thornton’s project experience includes schools, universities, libraries, banks, and healthcare facilities.

Bruss Construction and St. Paul's Moving Forward On New Boathouse

Bruss Construction Inc. has been selected to construct the new Crumpacker Boathouse for St. Paul's School, Concord, New Hampshire.

This ambitious project has been designed by Peterson Architects and will consist of a 2-story addition connecting two existing boathouse buildings. The addition will hold office space for coaches, locker rooms, and a meetinghouse room, as well as an additional 1-story boat bay addition. The addition will be 7,732 square feet, which will bring the total build area to 15,062 square feet.

This project is currently in progress with a completion date scheduled for December 2006.

Bruss Construction and Concord Co-op Come Together to Win Award

Bruss Construction's recently completed fit-up for the Concord Food Co-op has been awarded the Best Business Retention, Expansion, or Recruitment Project.

Bruss Construction Inc. completed interior renovations to the existing retail grocery store.

The renovations award was announced by the New Hampshire Main Street Center at the Excellence in Downtown Revitalization Awards ceremony.

Bruss Construction Awarded Nubanusit Neighborhood & Farm

Bruss Construction Inc. has been selected as Construction Manager for the Nubanusit Neighborhood & Farm. Nubanusit Neighborhood & Farm will consist of 29 custom-built environmentally designed homes, a Common House, and a farm located on 113 acres. The project will commence in the summer of 2006 and is scheduled for completion in the fall of 2007. This project is designed by O'Neil Pennoyer Architects.

Bruss Construction Awarded Capital Region Healthcare

Bruss Construction Inc. has been chosen by Capital Region Health Care to construct a family practice primary care clinic in Hillsborough, NH. The project is approximately 7,500 square feet which will include multiple exam rooms, procedure room, x-ray and clinical workspace. The project is scheduled for completion early September 2006.

Simpkins Joins Bruss

Bruss Construction, Inc. is pleased to announce the addition of Chris Simpkins to their construction team as Project Manager. Simpkins joins Bruss with a vast background of experience in all types of construction with over 26 years of service to the construction industry. He has a high level of interest and knowledge in sustainable construction solutions. Simpkins is a graduate of Northeastern University with a degree in Engineering.

Bruss Construction Begins Lake Sunapee Bank, Milford

Bruss Construction Inc. has been selected to construct the new Lake Sunapee Bank branch in Milford, New Hampshire. The facility will feature approx. 3200 sq. ft. of operations space, drive through, ATM, as well as offices for commercial and residential lending. Work on this project is scheduled to begin March 1st with completion scheduled for August.

Bruss Construction has successfully completed the Franklin Community Resource Center in Franklin, New Hampshire. The project consisted of constructing a 2200 sq. ft. facility to be utilized for a community room, counseling offices and general office space.

Bruss Construction has also completed the renovations and addition to the Bradford, New Hampshire branch of Lake Sunapee Bank.

Jim Bruss to Serve as Chairman of Board

Bruss construction is proud to announce that its C.E.O., Jim Bruss, has been selected as Chairman of Associated Builders and Contractors of NH/VT. Jim has served on ABC's Board of Directors for three years. Associated Builders and Contractors is a national merit shop trade organization representing contractors, suppliers and associates in 80 chapters across the country.
